"Gospeldelic Prairie Blues"

August 29/16

Saskatchewan born pastor’s daughter, Dione Taylor burst onto the music scene with her Juno nominated debut album “Open Your Eyes” in 2004. Her recent album “Born Free” is “a narrative of trial and faith told through a passionate blend of fiery gospel vocals with sounds from the delta blues”.

Prepare to be enthralled on Saturday afternoon September 10th with the soulful sound Taylor describes as Gospeldelic Prairie Blues.Taylor has performed all over the world for audiences that have included the President of the United States and Queen Elizabeth II.

She was nominated for a Gemini for her rendition of Oscar Peterson’s “Hymn to Freedom,” performed alongside Oliver Jones. Our Festival audience will get to enjoy a reprise of this spectacularly moving experience when Taylor makes a guest appearance with Oliver Jones on Saturday night.
